This comal de barro is sourced from the village of Tepoztlán in the state of Morelos. The pueblo is known as the birthplace of Quetzcoatl, the Aztec god of crafts and knowledge.

Poctli recommends the comal be treated with cal before use. The comal can be used over electric or gas stove tops.
